We speak with you to assess the condition of your videotape collection, to explain the conversion process, and to assist you with preparing the order prior to conversion. We test our DVDs in a variety of different players to check for compatibility and to ensure proper operation and quality performance. We will make sure your DVD entertainment is of the highest quality.
We personally handle your video treasures and process them in-house
so they are always safe with us.
We accept videotapes in VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, Digital8, and Mini-DV formats.
We convert to and from PAL, SECAM, and NTSC video standards.
We convert your videotapes to high quality DVD videos using our video conversion
process outlined in this tour.
To maintain the highest video archival quality,
our premium service allows for up to one hour of video per DVD.
We divide that hour of video play into 2 to 4 video segments,
each less than 20 to 30 minutes long
(40 to 60 minutes each if you choose the standard service
for up to two hours of video per DVD).
These video segments make it easy to use the menu at the start of
the DVD to find and access the video chapter you want to view.
We scan the label from your videotape.
The label image is displayed in the menu along with each video
on your DVD.
A title menu displays the videotape label and chapter for each video on the disc.
SubMenus display the label and chapters for each video.
Date labels are included on all menus.
We label each DVD disc in your Captivideo collection.
The disc label shows the date range of the videos,
the archival date when the DVD was created,
and a unique disc identifier.
The disc identifier is used by our optional Captivindex to reference discs
in your Captivideo collection so you can quickly find the DVD you want.
We preserve the notations
on your videotape labels so that information is not lost.

We create standardized multiple-level
pictorial menus with unique "chapter" markers for each minute of video play.*

allow easy and direct access to your video memories.
You use your DVD remote control buttons to navigate through the menus and
to jump to any part of the video you want to view:

If you choose our standard quality process
(up to two hours of video on each DVD),
the chapter markers are set at two-minute intervals.

Our enhanced packages include a Captivindex DVD as the first disc in your Captivideo collection.

The Captivindex DVD is a disc locator tool
for quick reference to your DVD collection.
It presents pictorial menus in a slideshow format
to help you find the Captivideo DVD that has the video
you are looking for.

A printed version of the Captivindex DVD is available for a nominal fee
(see Captivideo service Pricing information).
The Captivindex menus are displayed in a side-by-side format
for quick and easy reference to your DVD collection.
More videotapes? You can easily expand your existing Captivideo collection.
When you add new DVDs to your collection,
we create a new Captivindex DVD to reference your entire Captivideo DVD collection.
At that time, we also print the new Captivindex pages corresponding to
your newly added DVDs.

The Zip Case
For Captivideo collections over 10 DVDs,
we provide the ultimate in compactness and convenience.
The zippered case holds your entire DVD collection -
your Captivindex DVD and all your Captivideo DVDs -
in protective sleeves for easy access and mobility.
The Slim Jewel Case
For smaller video collections, we provide more compact protection
of your digital collection.
Each DVD is in its own slim jewel case
for easy access and convenient storage.
Unlike other conversion service bureaus, we offer personalized
handling that ensures your video memories are kept safe during processing,
from start to finish.
